The Mycopunk secret boss is the Ground Zero restricted operation on Gravity Farms: threat 2+, Purge survival objective, Globbler unlock and rewards.
Mycopunk Secret Boss Location
The secret boss content in Mycopunk sits behind Ground Zero, the only mission in the game flagged as Secret. It is on Gravity Farms, needs threat level 2 or higher, and it is where the Globbler unlocks. There is no hidden arena and no second save file: the secret is a mission that does not appear in the selector until you meet its condition.

Where Ground Zero is
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Mission | Ground Zero |
| Type | Restricted Operation |
| Category | Secret |
| Planet | New Atlas |
| Region | Gravity Farms |
| Minimum intensity | 2 |
| Objective | Survive inside the bubble |
| Extraction at end | No |
The objective is a Purge: you survive inside a shrinking bubble while a dedicated wave set spawns around you. That wave set is the reason players call it a boss fight — it is the only mission in the game whose spawn table is built entirely from one modifier.
What the encounter actually is
Ground Zero does not have a single unique boss health bar. It spawns the same abomination-tier enemies that other missions use, but in a confined area with nowhere to retreat, which turns a normal mini-boss into a real fight. The variants most likely to appear are the four-legged gunner types (B0X3R, CR4T3R, Laser Abomination) and the melee Slicer.
If you are looking for a single named hidden boss, the closest candidates are:
- Cranius — spawns only on the Singularity and Crash Site maps in Gravity Farms
- Necky Wormy Boss — the stationary boss, used in event and story encounters
- Amalgamation — ambushes crews in Flourishing Desert, not a hidden spawn
Rewards
First completion: Globbler unlock, 2× random upgrade, a skin, and Saxonite at an 82% chance. Repeat completions roll a single random upgrade.
The Globbler is the actual reason to run it. It is one of four weapons that never appear on the level track, and Ground Zero is the only way to get it.
How to unlock Ground Zero
The mission appears once you are running threat level 2 or higher in Gravity Farms. It is flagged Secret in the mission data, so it does not show in the normal selector; it appears as a candidate assignment once the region and threat conditions are met.
Related secret content
The other achievement-gated unlock is The Carver, which needs The Broken Frame rather than a mission. Both are covered on /guides/mycopunk-secret-weapons.
FAQ
Is there a hidden boss in Mycopunk?
There is a hidden mission, Ground Zero, which behaves like a boss encounter. The only boss with a hidden spawn condition is Cranius, which appears only on Singularity and Crash Site.
What level should you be for Ground Zero?
Threat 2 is available early, but the abomination spawns scale with threat. Most players clear it first around level 8–10 with a full grid.
Does Ground Zero respawn the Globbler?
No. The Globbler is a one-time unlock; repeat runs only pay a random upgrade.
If you are planning what to open next, the upgrade grids explained page covers node shapes and rarity, while the threat levels page shows what the harder tiers actually pay.
