The four Mycopunk weapons that skip the level track: Globbler, The Carver, Snowball Grenade and Diffraction Driver, with their exact unlock gates.
Mycopunk Secret Weapons: to Unlock Them
Four weapons in Mycopunk never appear on the player level track. Two come from achievements, one from the X11-B moonlet, and one is bought with resources after level 10. Everything else unlocks by levelling, which is why the same four names keep showing up in "hidden weapon" threads.

The four weapons that skip the level track
| Weapon | Type | How you get it | Gate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Globbler | Acid grenade launcher | Ground Zero | Achievement, X11-B related |
| The Carver | Industrial chainsaw | The Broken Frame | Achievement, crafting chain |
| Snowball Grenade | Cryo throwable | X11-B | Region reward |
| Diffraction Driver | Ion scattergun | Resource purchase | Player level 10 |
Globbler
The Globbler is the acid grenade launcher: 33 impact damage plus 6 acid per glob, 7 in the magazine, 63 in reserve, and 29 upgrade nodes. It arcs, it bounces, and its globs burst on the second contact rather than the first, which makes it the only weapon in the game you can bank off a wall on purpose.
It unlocks from the Ground Zero achievement. That achievement is tied to the X11-B moonlet content added in 1.0, so a save that has not touched the moon cannot have the Globbler. Once the achievement fires, the gun appears in your weapon list with its starter nodes and no resource cost.
The Carver
The Carver is a 100-round chainsaw with 32 nodes, 21.85 damage per tick at 526 RPM, and a 4–5 m falloff window — the shortest in the game. You cannot shoot with it at range; you walk into something and hold the trigger.
It is gated behind The Broken Frame, the achievement you get from assembling the frame the Carver is built on. Because the achievement is the gate and the frame is an item, the unlock order matters: a player who has the frame but has not completed the assembly step keeps seeing an empty weapon slot. Patch 2.0.1 fixed a related unlock bug, so old saves that stalled should re-check the achievement list.
Snowball Grenade
The Snowball is the cryo throwable, added in 1.0 with 26 nodes and a completely different role from the other grenades: it travels in a straight line, then detonates in a cryo burst when you press the throw button again. It is unlocked from X11-B, the moonlet region, rather than from the level track.
The interesting part is cryo itself. Freeze is a control status, not a damage status, and the Snowball's upgrades lean into that: size growth while rolling, hard freeze, and nodes that trade damage for a longer freeze window.
Diffraction Driver
The Diffraction Driver is 1.0's new primary: 75 damage in a cone, 3 rounds, 0.4 s reload, 31 nodes. It is unlocked with resources after player level 10, which makes it the only weapon in the game you buy rather than earn.
Alt-fire spins the halo. The longer you hold it, the tighter the cone and the longer the range, which turns a 8–14 m scattergun into something that reaches past 30 m at full spin.
What "secret" actually means here
There is no hidden vendor, no puzzle door and no second save file. The four weapons above are secret only in the sense that the game never tells you they exist until they unlock. Everything else — Accelerator, DMLR, Trident S2, Swarm Launcher, Plate Launcher, Gunship Cannon, Lead Flinger, Shocklance, Photon Disc — arrives from the level track or from crafting.
FAQ
How many secret weapons are in Mycopunk?
Four: Globbler, The Carver, Snowball Grenade and Diffraction Driver. All four are account-wide unlocks, so once you have them every employee can equip them.
Can you craft a secret weapon?
Crafting can roll a weapon you have not unlocked, but it cannot bypass an achievement gate. The Globbler and the Carver stay locked until Ground Zero and The Broken Frame fire.
Do secret weapons have their own upgrades?
Yes, each has a full node pool: Globbler 29, Carver 32, Snowball 26, Diffraction Driver 31 in the 1.0 build.
Two pages pair well with this one: the employees overview for what each crew slot can do, and the mission list for which activities appear on the map and when.
